Exploring the Enchanting Amantani Island

DAY 1:

Embark on an extraordinary journey across Lake Titicaca, immersing yourself in the enchanting beauty and rich cultural heritage of three remarkable islands: Uros, Amantani, and Taquile.

Begin your adventure at the Uros Islands, where you’ll be amazed by the unique lifestyle of the Uros people. Step onto the floating islands, intricately woven from totora reeds, and learn about their fascinating traditions and craftsmanship. Take a traditional reed boat ride and witness the serene beauty of the lake.

Next, head to the tranquil Amantani Island, where time seems to stand still. Engage with the warm-hearted locals and experience their traditional way of life. Enjoy a homestay experience, where you’ll be welcomed into the homes of island families, savoring authentic meals and participating in cultural activities. Embark on a hike to the island’s high points, soaking in breathtaking vistas of the lake and surrounding landscapes.

This night you will have the chance to share with your hosting family. Enjoy the night and enjoy the culture of this island.

DAY 2:

We will enjoy the breakfast with our local family before get back to Puno. On our way back we will have the chance to have a little stop in Taquile, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant indigenous culture. As you traverse the island’s terraced hills, be captivated by the panoramic views of the azure lake and snow-capped mountains. Engage with the friendly locals, renowned for their exceptional handwoven textiles and intricate knitting techniques. We will stop for lunch, have a little island look and we will go back to our boat.

Finally, after immersing ourselves in the magic of Lake Titicaca we will return to Puno where our car will take escort us to our hotel.

• Bring sunscreen and sunglasses: The sun at high altitudes can be intense, so bring sunscreen and sunglasses to protect your skin and eyes.
• The weather is mostly sunny all year however be aware that temperature plummets at dawn or evening.
• Wear comfortable shoes: Wear comfortable shoes with good traction to avoid slipping on the rocky terrain.
• Pack snacks: Bring some snacks to keep your energy levels up during the trek. High-carbohydrate snacks like nuts, energy bars, and fruits are good options.
• Respect the environment: The Titicaca Lake and its islands are a beautiful natural wonder, so it’s important to respect the environment. Don’t litter and stay on the designated trails to avoid damaging the fragile ecosystem.
